The first fashion week season of 2016 has officially kicked off! Last week’s Paris Haute Couture S/S 2016 delivered countless jaw-dropping, fairy-tale-worthy couture pieces that a girl can only dream of wearing. In just a short few days, the entire industry will descend on New York in time for NYFW to kick off RTW F/W 2016. It’s definitely an exciting time to be in the city and I’m hoping that my schedule will allow me to see at least a few shows or events on the weekend – we shall see, fingers crossed!

Before we dive into the frenzy surrounding NYFW, I wanted to take a step back and share a Spring 2016 trend that I’m really excited about. Even though most of S/S 2016 trends have already been covered back in September – see my friend Style Tomes’ full coverage of NYFW, LFW, MFW, and PFW – but hey, it’s been 6 months and we’re only about to enter spring NOW, I think a revisit is quite timely 🙂 One thing that particularly caught my eyes is the emphasis on statement sleeves. As you will see in my round-up below, several styles of sleeves consistently showed up in presentations. While not all of them are applicable to your everyday wear (eg. not sure how I can get by with the bubble sleeves without looking like I’m auditioning for A Little Prairie House), I did manage to find several wearable pieces that you might want to consider adding to your closet. An example would be this Warehouse blouse I posted a few weeks ago –

Reason number 374283 why I heart Dylana. I’m stungglirg to figure out which trends I want to wear for LFW.. but then I realised that I really don’t like any of this season’s trends so I am just going to wear my normal clothes: a smock dress maybe, and a paisley midi skirt.Speaking of skirts, this one is a dream.X
