Happy summer, guys! The weather has been absolutely gorgeous in NY and we’ve been taking full advantage of it – picnicking in Central Park, exploring new neighborhoods, rooftop happy hours – these short few months are always the best in NYC 🙂
When I first saw this Tularosa Carson Dress I was immediately drawn by its lightweight material and babydoll silhouette. The star print is perfect for the season – it reminds me of those summer nights as a teenager in California laying on the grass watching shooting stars. I also love the tassel details, they’re quite a signature for Tularosa pieces. Last but not least, how cute are these Loeffler Randall sandals? They’re my new favorite this year – the nude colors go with almost every outfit, and in case you haven’t noticed, poms on your shoes are so on trend! If nothing else, they make me want to dance like that flamingo dancer emoji 💃🏻💃🏻
Happy Memorial Day Weekend to my U.S. readers! Hope you’re all enjoying the unofficial start to summer. We’re blessed with gorgeous weather here in NY and hubby and I are thoroughly enjoying it. We decided to do a staycation this year – with all the stress at work I wanted nothing more than to catch up on blog and sleep, and I’ve been doing just that – eat, play, sleep, repeat. Talk about being #BLESSED. If you haven’t already, follow me on Snapchat (@WHENINDOUBTBLOG) to watch me eat! JK, I do other stuff, too 🙂
In today’s post I’m going to show you how to style a bomber jacket three ways. As you’ve all seen by now, bomber jackets were all the rage this spring. While I’m a big fan of the style I also wanted to invest in a piece that will last more than one season. As I’ve mentioned before, don’t just be a blind follower of trends. Make sure it’s actually relevant to your closet, keep it classic, and most importantly, have fun! This Self Portrait Scalloped Edge jacket does all that for me. I’ve worn it for three completely different occasions: 1) City chic 2) Sporty travel look and 3) Night time out and about. Click in to read more – I hope at least one of them will inspire you to experiment with your bomber jacket of choice!
Happy May, guys! If you’ve been following me on snapchat (@WHENINDOUBTBLOG), you know leather jackets are pretty much my second skin on the weekends. They’re all I wear outside of the office because everything goes with a good piece, whether it be genuine leather or high quality pleather. When I first saw this blue Zara leather jacket, my face literally turned into one of those heart-shaped eyes emojis, haha! The color is absolutely gorgeous and unique, and I especially love the cropped length. It’s light, fun, and perfect for Spring. The best part is, it won’t break your bank – it’s made of buttery soft pleather for a highly reasonable price ($69,90!). Hope you guys enjoyed this casual outfit & a glimpse of my typical off-duty look!
Hello friends, it’s been a while! 🙂 Just wanted to share a quick outfit we shot a few weeks ago. If you recall from my “SPRING 2016 TRENDS SPOTLIGHT: ALL ABOUT THEM SLEEVES” post, I was super excited to try some of those styles in real life. You saw the ruffle neckline last time, today I want to show you how wearable stacked ruffle sleeves can be.
Sometimes it’s easy to go trendy-crazy or follow fads blindly if one doesn’t have a clear knowledge of their own personality, style, or body type. The thing I love about these sleeves trends, however, is that they can be very easily and subtly incorporated into your closet. Take white shirts for example – they are closet essentials and I trust you all have at least one in your wardrobe. In this ruffle blouse, we’re simply giving basic white shirts a fun update with slightly more voluminous ruffles in a stacking structure on the sleeves. You can wear it as a statement piece by dressing up your favorite pair of denim, or pair it with a conservatively structured bottom such as my pleated leather skirt to make it office-friendly. As much as I love to dabble in the hottest street style trends, the defining element of my style always comes back to classic pieces, hence my silver oxfords (classic style, fun color 😉 ) to complete the look.
Happy hump day, folks! Just wanted to come up here and share a quick outfit with you. This high neck ruffle shirt has such fun and flowy details, you can easily pair it with a simple mini skirt like I did here, or a pair of skinny jeans for a more casual look. New York has finally entered spring (woohoo!), which means temperature ranges from 40-60s throughout the day. To stay warm, I also draped a favorite coat of mine over the shoulders and wore a felt floppy hat.
I hope you all enjoy this post, and have a wonderful rest of the week!
