Summer always goes by in the blink of an eye. We shot this outfit (and a few others) back when we vacationed in Jamaica, which is now over a month ago – time flies! This year’s summer in NY returned to its usual humid, scorching temperatures, and that gives me every opportunity to bust out off-the-shoulder (OTS) pieces. I can’t believe, given my obsession with this style, this is the first time I’m blogging about it! And in case you’ve been living under a rock, OTS is the hottest trend this season.
I actually first started loving this style when I was just a teenager. I remember living in these two off-the-shoulder sweaters one winter (yes, you can wear OTS all year round!). They were literally the same sweater but I, of course, got them in two different colors because of my typical indecisiveness. Fast forward to two winters ago, I fell in love with the silhouette all over again and brought with me multiple OTS tops to (yet) another family vacation.
When I saw this Chloe Oliver off-the-shoulder dress I instantly thought of the flamingo lady emoji 💃🏻. Seriously, how fun is this little piece? The pastel tassels just make me so happy and want to start dancing. It’s perfect for a vacation to anywhere tropical, or even just weekend picnicking in the park. I also linked at the bottom of the post several other OTS summer dresses that I’m currently loving – hope you guys enjoy them!
Happy July 4th to all my U.S. readers! For those of you following me on Snapchat, you know we’re in Las Vegas this weekend celebrating one of my best friends’ flirty 30. We don’t go to Vegas often these days but when we do it is awlays a good time 🙂 Many of you also know that we were in Jamaica last week. We had talked about doing a mini getaway for quite some time but couldn’t settle on the dates. Finally, we just bit the bullet and booked somewhere tropical. Neither of us had been to Jamaica, so given budget it seemed like a great destination.
We spent 6 days and 5 nights at the Round Hill Resort in Montego Bay. The resort itself is very quaint and quiet, with properties spread along the coast line. It also has about 20+ private villas that would be perfect for large families, each comes with its own pool and full appliances so it feels like a home away from home. We got an ocean-facing room at the Pineapple House and I absolutely loved the minimalist, all white space – check out my Instagram for more photos of the room. I’ll also be posting shots in my next few posts.
Taking advantage of the scenic surroundings, we got up early one morning and shot around the resort. I’m particularly loving one piece swimsuits this summer so I brought a few with me on this trip. The details of this AGUADECOCO one piece are so stunning, with the perfect color against the deep blue backdrop.
Happy summer, guys! The weather has been absolutely gorgeous in NY and we’ve been taking full advantage of it – picnicking in Central Park, exploring new neighborhoods, rooftop happy hours – these short few months are always the best in NYC 🙂
When I first saw this Tularosa Carson Dress I was immediately drawn by its lightweight material and babydoll silhouette. The star print is perfect for the season – it reminds me of those summer nights as a teenager in California laying on the grass watching shooting stars. I also love the tassel details, they’re quite a signature for Tularosa pieces. Last but not least, how cute are these Loeffler Randall sandals? They’re my new favorite this year – the nude colors go with almost every outfit, and in case you haven’t noticed, poms on your shoes are so on trend! If nothing else, they make me want to dance like that flamingo dancer emoji 💃🏻💃🏻
Happy Memorial Day Weekend to my U.S. readers! Hope you’re all enjoying the unofficial start to summer. We’re blessed with gorgeous weather here in NY and hubby and I are thoroughly enjoying it. We decided to do a staycation this year – with all the stress at work I wanted nothing more than to catch up on blog and sleep, and I’ve been doing just that – eat, play, sleep, repeat. Talk about being #BLESSED. If you haven’t already, follow me on Snapchat (@WHENINDOUBTBLOG) to watch me eat! JK, I do other stuff, too 🙂
In today’s post I’m going to show you how to style a bomber jacket three ways. As you’ve all seen by now, bomber jackets were all the rage this spring. While I’m a big fan of the style I also wanted to invest in a piece that will last more than one season. As I’ve mentioned before, don’t just be a blind follower of trends. Make sure it’s actually relevant to your closet, keep it classic, and most importantly, have fun! This Self Portrait Scalloped Edge jacket does all that for me. I’ve worn it for three completely different occasions: 1) City chic 2) Sporty travel look and 3) Night time out and about. Click in to read more – I hope at least one of them will inspire you to experiment with your bomber jacket of choice!
Happy May, guys! If you’ve been following me on snapchat (@WHENINDOUBTBLOG), you know leather jackets are pretty much my second skin on the weekends. They’re all I wear outside of the office because everything goes with a good piece, whether it be genuine leather or high quality pleather. When I first saw this blue Zara leather jacket, my face literally turned into one of those heart-shaped eyes emojis, haha! The color is absolutely gorgeous and unique, and I especially love the cropped length. It’s light, fun, and perfect for Spring. The best part is, it won’t break your bank – it’s made of buttery soft pleather for a highly reasonable price ($69,90!). Hope you guys enjoyed this casual outfit & a glimpse of my typical off-duty look!
